NDIS Exercise Physiology Services

At The MVMNT Plan we provide gym-based NDIS exercise physiology services for a range of NDIS Participants. Our approach is to provide the support that enables each participant to achieve their individual goals.

Why Is Exercise Physiology Important For NDIS Participants?

Accredited Exercise Physiologists are four-year university qualified allied health professionals specialising in the delivery of exercise for the management of many NDIS recognised disabilities. Our Interventions are exercise-based and include health and physical activity education, advice and support. In addition, to lifestyle modification with a strong focus on achieving behavioural change and restoring optimal physical function, health and wellness.

The MVMNT Plan approach to Exercise Physiology

Exercise Physiology is an allied health service which is the most effective over a longer period of time with ongoing support and education.

When working with and managing chronic pain, disease and/or disability the results from exercise and lifestyle modifications take time. So we designed and deliver a service that accounts for this.

What Our Exercise Physiology NDIS Service Includes...

Our services are tailored to meet each participants needs and goals. Below are some of the inclusions of our service.

Regular Exercise Physiology Sessions

Our exercise physiology service is an ongoing service structured to deliver regularly scheduled sessions based on the individual needs of the participant.

It is pivotal that participants work under the guidance of an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP). It is only AEP’s that are qualified to deliver appropriate exercise-based interventions and understand the role that Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and behavioural modification have in motivating a participant to exercise.

Carers/support workers do not have the qualifications, professional background or experience needed to deliver, modify or progress an effective, safe and appropriate exercise program.

Ongoing Individualised Programming & Support

As part of our service we develop individualised programs for each of our participants based on their level of ability and their goals.

These programs are constantly monitored, progressed and modified as needed.

Depending on the individual participant, they may also have access to their program to follow (with or without the assistance of a carer/support worker) outside of our regularly scheduled exercise physiology sessions via our MVMNT Plan app.

This not only allows for enhanced monitoring, progression and feedback, but also gives access to additional expertly guided exercise sessions.

Educational Sessions

We offer training and educational sessions for the participant and their support workers and/or family members to improve the delivery and outcomes of our exercise physiology services.

These sessions can include appropriate levels of training and instruction to help the participants carer/support worker to assist in the delivery of their exercise program outside of their scheduled exercise physiology sessions.

Sessions for the participant and their carer/support worker can also include education around the effects of exercise on the management of the participants disabilities or conditions.
