INJURED 2 ACTIVE COACHING:

Injury rehab that gets you back doing the things you love.

Are you ready to live the active lifestyle you've been missing?

What is the MVMNT Plan's Injured 2 active coaching service?

It is personalised coaching and programming designed by our accredited exercise physiologist to help you overcome injury, get back to the activities you love - fitter, stronger and more resilient than before.

In the coaching we combine effective rehabilitation with strength & conditioning programming principles to get you out of "rehab purgatory" and moving towards your fitness goals.

We believe that working on your fitness goals shouldn't have to wait until you are "rehabbed", in fact, your rehab will be more successful when you do both.

Does any of this sound like you?

  • You want to get moving and be pain free again.

  • You want to get back to feeling fit, strong and confident in your body.

  • You want to get back to doing the things you love - playing with your kids, playing your favourite sport and saying YES to adventures!

  • You want to live a healthy and happy lifestyle but injury has been preventing you.

  • You want to stop feeling like you are just a number when getting help. Barely listened to, rush in and out of your appointments and handed generic sheets of exercises (that just end up at the bottom of your junk draw).

  • You want to grow or regain your confidence in the gym to move pain free and build your strength and fitness.

  • You are sick of feeling on your own on your rehab journey.

  • You're sick of feeling like you are missing out on so much of your life because of pain.

If it does, we can help!

How does it work?

Step 1: Your MVMNT Planning Session

The first step at The MVMNT Plan for all our new Injured 2 Active clients is our MVMNT Planning Session.

At this session we get to know why you have come to The MVMNT Plan for help, then get a brief background of your injury and exercise history. We then discuss what your goals are and help determine a plan of action (Your MVMNT Plan) to achieve those goals.

At the end of the session you will have...

...a better understanding of what you need to do to achieve your rehab and fitness goals.

...our recommendations for how you can best achieve those goals (and why you may not have already).

...a plan on how we can work together to get you rehabbed and back to being active.

Step 2: The ONBOARDING Phase

The Onboarding Phase is an important step in "resetting" what isn't working and starting again. We take the time to perform thorough functional and injury specific assessments using the latest exercise science technology. This helps us to understand your current functional and injury-related capacities and design an initial program to meet you where you're at right now.

This phase is made up of two exercise physiology sessions:

Coaching & Programming Assessment Session

Program Delivery Session.

During this phase we also take the time to get to know more about your current lifestyle and behavioural habits. This is both so we can have a better understanding of you as a person, as well as help educate and modify these lifestyle factors that heavily influence the success of your rehab and fitness progress.

At the end of the Onboarding Phase you will have...

...clear outcome based goals and milestones to work towards that clearly indicate progress in your rehab.

...the steps mapped out to help you achieve these rehab and fitness milestones and progress through the phases of your coaching.

...your initial MVMNT Plan program with a clear understanding of the what, why and the how of each exercise.

step 3: Start your injured 2 active coaching

Your coaching & programming is broken down into these 3 main phases:

BASE

In the first phase of programming and coaching we address your individual mobility restrictions and reduce as much of your pain as possible. The goal is also to reload and recondition your injury, bringing it back to a baseline level in preparation for the next step. This is much more than stretching. It is all about developing new and improving old movement patterns in order to lay a solid biomechanical foundation.

BUILD

In your second programming and coaching phase, we progress your rehab by gradually exposing you to previously aggravating activities (with much less and often no pain). Following a successful Build Phase, we can now increase strength and conditioning and expose you to more sports or activity-specific skills. We also ramp up the focus on improving your 'movement literacy' by progressing your movement patterns, along with your strength and cardiovascular capacity. At the end of this phase, you will have graduated from rehab and are ready to get back to doing what you love.

ACTIVE

Without a doubt, this is the most crucial phase. In this phase the focus is on developing (and maintaining) the strength and conditioning you need to enjoy your favourite activities at full speed, AND enjoy them for a long time to come.

We know (and science agrees) that strong bodies are resilient bodies! This takes TIME, and we will assist you every step of the way so that you can stay pain-free and perform at your best. Whether it's going to the beach every morning, playing sports on the weekends, or running after your kids, stronger people have more fun...and are harder to kill!
