Run by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, it combines proper rehab with real strength & conditioning — so you’re not stuck in "rehab purgatory" or winging it at the gym.

How does it work?

Step 1: secure your spot in the current beta phase cohort of the play strong program™

The first step is to secure your place in the current Beta Phase Cohort by scheduling your Play Strong Planning Video Consult.

During your video consultation we will do a brief review of your medical, injury and exercise history. Then discuss your goals and map out what your Play Strong Program™ coaching phases would look like.

At the end of the consultation you will have...

...a better understanding of what you need to do to achieve your rehab and return-to-play goals.

...our recommendations for how you can best achieve those goals (and why you may not have already).

...a clear plan of how working together in the Play Strong Program™ will get you back on the field.

Step 2: The ONBOARDING Phase

The Onboarding Phase is an important step in "resetting" what isn't working and starting again. We take the time to perform thorough functional and injury specific assessments. This helps us to understand your current functional and injury-related capacities and design your initial program for your Rebuild Phase of the Play Strong Program™.

This phase is made up of two virtual exercise physiology sessions:

Coaching & Programming Virtual Assessment Session

Virtual Program Delivery Session.

During this phase we also take the time to get to know more about your current lifestyle and behavioural habits. This is both so we can have a better understanding of you as a person, as well as help educate and modify these lifestyle factors that heavily influence the success of your rehab and return-to-play progress.

At the end of the Onboarding Phase you will have...

...clear outcome based goals and milestones to work towards that clearly indicate progress in your rehab.

...the steps mapped out to help you achieve these rehab and return-to-play milestones and progress through the phases of your coaching.

...your initial program with a clear understanding of the what, why and the how of each exercise.

step 3: Start your play strong program™ online coaching

Your coaching & programming is broken down into these 3 main phases:

REBUILD

In the first phase of programming and coaching we address your individual mobility restrictions and reduce as much of your pain as possible. The goal is also to reload and recondition your injury, bringing it back to a baseline level in preparation for the next step. This is much more than stretching. It is all about developing new and improving old movement patterns in order to lay a solid biomechanical foundation. We continue to progress your rehab by gradually exposing you to previously aggravating activities (with much less and often no pain).

PREPARE

In your second programming and coaching phase, Following a successful Rebuild Phase, we can now increase strength and conditioning and expose you to more sports or activity-specific skills. We also ramp up the focus on improving your 'movement literacy' by progressing your movement patterns, along with your strength and cardiovascular capacity. At the end of this phase, you will have graduated from rehab and are ready to get back to doing what you love.

RETURN

Without a doubt, this is the most crucial phase. In this phase the focus is on getting you back on the field and then continuing to develop (and maintain) the strength and conditioning you need to stay on the field for a long time to come.

We know (and science agrees) that strong bodies are resilient bodies! This takes TIME, and we will assist you every step of the way so that you can stay pain-free and perform at your best.

Can I claim a rebate for this service through my private health?

Yes you can. Exercise Physiology is an allied health profession recognised by the majority of Private Health Funds under their extras cover, however not all cover Telehealth. So it is always advisable to check with your health fund.

The MVMNT Plan will provide you with invoices for the claimable portions of the service, which you can submit to your private health fund for the rebate.

Do I need to be a member of a gym to access this service?

Yes, it is ideal that you have access to a reasonably equipped gym or home gym.
